Re: Kde fails to Start
My last Post did not appear in the forum- so here is the short version. This matter is resolved with the help of KDE Forums. Rosa 2012.1 is up and running once again. Yay ! The procedure was basically Boot into KDE "Failsafe" mode Run "startkde" from the command line. Look for errors. In my case lib...

Kde fails to Start
RosaFresh 2012.1 Desktop AMD 64bit I am looking for ideas/suggestions to diagnose a problem with KDE. It refuses to start since my last lot of updates (approx 2 weeks ago) using packagkit. I can log in with KDM. The xserver starts and takes me to a terminal on a blank desktop. I think this is failsa...

Re: Smart Package Manager
This issue has been Resolved. I had to review my Rosa Repositories after upgrading KDE and breaking my Rosa 12.1. To elaborate without being side tracked - Kdeinit would not start after upgrading Rosa 12.1 to KDE 4.10.5 packages. The file .xsession errors indicated a problem with libxrender1. After ...

Re: Desktop Broken Solved .....partly
Thanks for your suggestions. Tried renaming .kde4 and logging out/in - but no luck. I stumbled across another solution however. Selecting Toobox - top RH corner of the screen, then Add Panel > Rocketbar. This triggered my (absent) Panel back into life, along with the Welcome, Applications and TimeFr...

Re: Console TAB auto-complete not working
This seems to have resolved itself.
Not sure if it had any impact but I installed rxvt and xterm. Some time later the auto-complete started working correctly.
NB I spoke too soon - problem still exists.

Console TAB auto-complete not working
Rosa 2012 This may have been covered before - if so my apologies. When using konsole - TAB completion stalls for some situations. For example if using urpmi "some rpm file" and typing the first few letters of the rpm name - the auto-complete will not work. There is a time lapse before anything happe...

Where 32bit Mesa ?
Can anyone point me to a 32bit Mesa package that will work for Rosa 2012 ? I need this for a software package that I want to run on Rosa. The software is looking for libGLU. From memory it will not work with 64bits libGLU.

Re: Wireless Broadband on Rosa 2012
I think this is resolved. In my last boot of Rosa 2012, I selected Broadband Wireless at the bottom of the NetworkManager dialogue box. This enabled me to set up Wireless Networking in NetworkManager > Manage Connections. More testing is needed but so far - so good.
