It can be installed above the previous mandriva Kde 4.2.4 or 4.3.1

Subject: KDE 4.3.1

Description: KDE or the K Desktop Environment, is a network transparent contemporary desktop environment for UNIX workstations. KDE seeks to fulfill the need for an easy to use desktop for UNIX workstations, similar to desktop environments found on Macintosh and Microsoft Windows operating systems.
"Caizen", (a.k.a KDE 4.3), brings many improvements to the user experience and development platform. KDE 4.3 continues to refine the unique features brought in previous releases while bringing new innovations. With the 4.2 release aimed at the majority of end users, KDE 4.3 offers a more stable and complete product for the home and small office.

if you have other problems with the desktop, the problems come from .kde4 folder containing config/prefs, so first rename it as .kde4-old, or it you have no personal data inside (email, calendar, apointements, ecc...), you can also delete it with
From a default user Terminal/Konsole session, not root

Code: Select all

rm ~/.kde4
Some says that it's better to delete also the home pulse hidden config folder
From a default user Terminal/Konsole session, not root

Code: Select all

rm ~/.pulse
If at the end, thein the Konsol/Terminal wndow you see to execute
urpme --auto-orphans

1 transazioni dell'installazione fallite

akonadi >= 1:1.1.95 necessario a (installato) kopete-3:4.3.1-69.1.1mib2009.1.i686

http://avi.alkalay.net/software/webcore ... noarch.rpm
http://avi.alkalay.net/software/webcore ... noarch.rpm

Code: Select all

urpmi gtk-qt-engine

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/ ... 6.rpm.html
o pure disinstallate skype , e al fine aggiornamento installate il libxscrnsaver1-1.2.0-2mdv2010.0.i586.rpm
e sempre con i repo kde4.3 686 attivi
urpmi skype
@Pulfer
akonadi to fix , becose at every update is proposed yours or the mdv one .. this time try a Epoch

Ciao a tutti!

Ciao ciao!!

Installato tutto bene, funzionamento bene anzi benissimo. :D
alla fine dell'installazione mi ha dato:
--------------
- akonadi-kde-4.3.1-69.1mib2009.1.i686
- (perché non è soddisfatto akonadi >= 1:1.2.1) (s/N) s
- Pacchetto Versione Release Arch.
- (supporto "Main Updates"
- akonadi-common 1.1.2 1.1mdv2009.1 i586
- 3.4MB di spazio disco saranno liberati.
- verranno scaricati 97KB di pacchetti.
- Procedo con l'installazione di un pacchetto? (S/n) s
- installazione di akonadi-common-1.1.2-1.1mdv2009.1.i586.rpm da /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
- Installazione fallita:...
----------
----------
- akonadi-kde-4.3.1-69.1mib2009.1.i686
- (perché non è soddisfatto akonadi >= 1:1.2.1)
----------

Looks like it wants to re-install the old package to replace the new one.

Maybe the problem is that in KDE 4.2 the package was kdepim4-akonadi but in KDE 4.3 it's akonadi-kde.
