Happy Holidays to MIB !
Thanks, for your words, and welcome to you!

The MIB KDE 4.3.4 project is stilll in testing, but when we finished all the tune-up,
we'll move it in the MIB default repos to make of it the standard developer platform,
so who wants MIB packages have to use MIB KDE 4.3.4 too,
if some users don't want that thing, they only could:
a> remove MIB repos at all, and forget the MIB
b> enable to download only some (not QT) rpms, and then disable it after install

The reason is due, we cannot follow two different Kde branch, and to
prepare, build, and test, all the rpms for the two different platforms:
the thing is much more evident in 2009.1, where packages built with
KDE 4.3.4 are not working in the KDE 4.2.4 environment,
while conversely the apps built with old KDE 4.2.4 or KDE 4.3.2 are
full compatible within new KDE 4.3.4

Many like to define the MIB to be "aggressive", but it's not true at all:
every decision has a cause and motivation,

we are but a community of users who use their free time to serve the community, not much is being said

I hope you understand our point of view, we cannot do more than this...

yet another successfuly KDE4.3.4 installation!
Thank you very much for having "baked" it.

At the moment, all my favourite apps are working just fine.

urpmi reported there are some orphan rpms - I'm not eager to remove them, but may be this can give you some debug information, just in case:

Thanks for your advice

We suggest to never use rpmorphan or similar:
It's a very dangerous procedure, sometimes it can lead to a not working OS

Sometimes, orphan packages can be usefull... leave it

We think even orphans have their rights, so not eliminate them ;)

I had a similar list after upgrading wine, to keep the files safe open a konsole su root password
then.

Code: Select all

[root@Tardis-1 larry]# urpme --auto-orphans | grep 2010.0
  kio4-imap-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-ldap-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-mbox-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-nntp-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-pop3-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-sieve-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  kio4-smtp-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
  libmesaglu1-7.5.2-2mdv2010.0.i586
Next enter into the konsole still as root 1 at a time :

Code: Select all

[root@Tardis-1 larry]# urpmi kio4-imap-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64
Package kio4-imap-4.3.4-69.3mib2010.0.x86_64 is already installed
Marking kio4-imap as manually installed, it won't be auto-orphaned
writing /var/lib/rpm/installed-through-deps.list
Now you won't have them showing up in the orphaned list anymore :)

If you are a gnome user and you don't have yet installed kde4 and you wish testin' this new version you must:
first add the KDE-4.3.4 repo as suggested, and then type this line, too:

Code: Select all

urpmi task-kde4

accadeva invece prima, e l'ho visto accadere alcune volte sulle precedenti 4.3.1 e 4.3.2,

Ciao,
NicCo
