Rpm request - Valknut

Hello friends, please, can you make rpm´s of Valknut?
http://wxdcgui.sourceforge.net/
Rpm´s in the PLF repository are almost 5 years old...
Best for both x86 and x86-64 architecrures. I use Mandriva 2010.1.

do you know that the software you requests is unmaintained?
See the note on http://sourceforge.net/projects/wxdcgui/.
The latest releases where made in February 2009 (0.3.23 for the "classic" program, 0.4.9 for the Qt4 port).
In a much more recent distro we could end with a non-buildable or a non-working thing...

Next, what flavour of valknut do you need: the classic or the Qt-based one? (the latter could be more compatible with a more recent Mandriva)

Hello, thnaks fo your reply. Yes, I know that Valknut is no longer maintained but I hope it will be ressurected because of its unique features...
I ´ll be very happy if you try to build QT version. But if you won´t mangaed it and package will not work, well, life is life...

Well, the rpm from PLF is too old and nearly useless;
too many things changed in the structure of Mdv between 2007 and 2010.1 (especially with the switch from Qt3 to Qt4...):
but it's far beyond my actual skill level to "adjust" it to work with Mdv 2010.1

However I noticed Fedora had packaged the release 0.4.9/Qt4 (the last one) for FC10... by using it as starting point I could port it to Mandriva...

OK, HonzaRez.

I finally managed to adapt the packages from Fedora ("packages" because I needed to port also a more recent version of the Direct Connect library "dclib"): when the repo lists will be updated, you will find the QT4-based valknut package and the needed libraries in the repos "MIB_basic_XX" (XX = 32 or 64, according your arch); however, if you are using the KDE 45x rather che the Mdv "standard" one (4.4.5;... and, consequently, a more recent version of the QT4 libraries), you wil find the "right" valknut packages in the 45X-extras repositories.

Two warning however:
* the source code is rather old (ie predates the advent of 64 bit, I think...): consequently the building process spew a flood of warning, especially about the mismatch of the size of variables and pointers... and working to correct those things is really beyond my skills: so, even if the code compiled without any error both on 32 and 64 bit, I would not make any promise about its correctness;

* I made some basic tests: valknut installs, starts, the GUI works and even can download the list of the present DC hub... I don't know enough about valknut or DC protocol to make more precise tests: so YMMW with it.

Big thanks! It really works, I can download files, some are downloading from me, I can reload all hublists etc. And Valknut is almost 100% stable.
