RPM request: ekopath

Post by King_DuckZ »

Title
- ekopath

- Mandriva 2010.2
- x86_64
- http://www.pathscale.com/ekopath-compiler-suite
- https://github.com/path64/compiler.git (use git clone)
https://github.com/path64/debugger.git

Binary builds are available here http://www.pathscale.com/ekopath-compiler-suite, but having a Mandriva package would be great.
I hope the upcoming Mandriva will finally update gcc to at least version 4.6.1 (which I managed to build by myself anyways), but having ekopath wouldn't be superfluous IMO.

I'm not sure about licences... I found this page http://wiki.winehq.org/Path64, which states it got released under GPLv3. I'm not sure if it means it's legal to put it into a repository or not, tho :/

I *hate* licensing discussions, but I hope in the future instead of posting random thoughts on a forum where it's likely to get missed people actually try one of the community resources
1) IRC #pathscale - irc.freenode.net
2) Mailing list - http://lists.pathscale.com/mailman/listinfo

Gentoo has started shipping a path64 and also has an ebuild around the nightly builds. If you're going to create a package you can probably model after them
http://packages.gentoo.org/package/dev-lang/path64
http://packages.gentoo.org/package/dev-lang/ekopath

Good luck and use the community support if you need further help.

Thanks for posting, codestr0m. So, does it mean that mib is allowed to put ekopath on their repository? Are you people at mib in favour of this addition? :geek:

Sorry I don't know mib packaging, but you may be able to steal or be heavily influenced by one of the other distro (Gentoo/Arch/SLES) that have packaged this. Email me directly if you need help - [email protected]

I'm rather thinking about moving to some other distro... I'm very disappointed by the new Mandriva, so maybe I'll move to something Gentoo-based. But thanks for replying! :)
