Hi,
I have put this (MagOS_2011_20120325.tar.gz.torrent) on an 8G A-DATA usb key. At first, I had formatted a reiserfs partition but boot failed. There were messages about ´invalid non-MS' or similar when the bootloader looked for Magos, so I guess it needs to be fat32, which I have done, now.

There was a problem installing grub, at first, with ´permission denied´ on a bootlace.com file in the grub4dos directory above the installation script. It turns out I needed to ¨reboot¨ the key for this step to work and I am posting from Magos-Mandriva Linux release 2011.0 (Official) for i586. :)

I´d say it boots and runs with a very good responsiveness. It has installed the nvidia driver automatically for my GeForce 9500 GT, automatically acquired internet from a wired router, and started the Blueman Applet for my bluetooth adapter, with which I paired to my Treo 755p.

Very good. Not too much time to play, atm, but thanks for this useful work. Image

Thank you.

Grub4dos doesn't support reiserfs :-( Only vfat ntfs ext2 ext3.
Running from reiserfs is posiible, but you will have to install another bootloader manually.

About permissions. It seems to your filesystem were mounted with noexec options.
It is happens when mounting via KDE (or Gnome) graphical tools.
Mounting manuall must help in this case. I'll correct my mini-howto at the first post.

Now I have one new Lexar Jumpdrive Firefly 16GB...
Next week I want to try to prepare one MagOS there :D

I would like to know:

About FS to format USB stick
Is ext4 also possible?
Which is the suggested FS to format usb?

About USB stick:
There are particular brand and/or models suggested?
And about capacity? Which are the minimal requests?

There are 2 bootloader are included
- grub4dos (recommended) It supports vfat ext2 ext3 ntfs (ntfs not recommended due to slowdown effect)
- syslinux (alternative). It supports vfat ext2 ext3 (I tested only vfat. I dont sure about ext2/ext3)

Unfortunally ext4 is not supported by this bootloaders.
If you install any other bootloader (grub2 for example) system may be loaded even from ext4 reiserfs xfs ...

Minimal size is 2G. Clean mode recommended.
If you plan to use 4G and above you may extend you profiles (which saves your data)
or make new directory for changes

is there something that you can reveal us ,about it ?

Thx in advance.
