2012.1 can't install nvidia driver

Post by promeneur »

i test 2012.1

i install the nvidia driver with xfdrake
then
i reboot system
then
system stop booting after a while.

i made a bug report
http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/show_bug.cgi?id=1301

if i understand well my philips 170C :
- is too old for the new way to install nvidia driver
- send a bad edid to an edid request

the new method does not know how to install nvidia driver with so called old monitors
xfdrake, x 1.13 and udev rules must be completed to install nvidia with those numerous old monitors

fedora has already workaround the pb

does any one know when this pb will be fixed with 2012.1 ?
