i made a bug report
http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/show_bug.cgi?id=1301
if i understand well my philips 170C :
- is too old for the new way to install nvidia driver
- send a bad edid to an edid request
the new method does not know how to install nvidia driver with so called old monitors
xfdrake, x 1.13 and udev rules must be completed to install nvidia with those numerous old monitors
