my conf :
Mandriva 2008.1 32 bit
linux raid(mdadm) with 2 sata hdd (sda and sdb)
/ is not a raid partition and is in sda
swap is md1 raid partition
/home is md2 raid partition

system can't start with
kernel desktop 2.6.28.3-69mib 1.1mnb2 686

it begins to start then it does not find /dev, fstab etc.
it finds my third hdd (a pata one) and my pata dvd writer

the last message is :

fails to boot

i must use my old 2.6.27 kernel

I don't think it's the kernel , rather module init tools .....hope nicco looks further for this bug ....
if you set the sata option to RAID from your bios config there it's a problem ( same as mine )

this morning mandriva boots with success with 2.28.3 !

happy but strange
