Gestire Speedboot

A volte Speedboot non porta i vantaggi sperati, l'alternativa per disabilitare Speedboot senza passare il parametro ad ogni avvio, e per ogni kernel, è editare il file /etc/sysconfig/speedboot.

Il file in questione è molto semplice, e basta editare la riga

SPEEDBOOT=auto
in

SPEEDBOOT=no
In questo modo si può anche forzare Speedboot usando "yes" al posto di "auto" o si può usare il parametro "probe" per usare Speedboot in base alle impostazioni relative a quel kernel.

Grazie per la guida penso che con la prossima uscita della 2009.1 tornera utile a molti, anche semplicemente per valutare quale sia la condizione migliore nei vari assetti del pc.

Si, l'info tornera senz'altro utile
soprattutto quando per qualche motivo lo speedboot si rifiutera' di funzionare in qualche configurazione hardware non comune, negando difatto il completarsi della fase di avvio della 2009.1

darà parecchi problemi, e impedirà di capire se i dkms si installano sul kernel aggiornato per esempio (cosa che succede durante appunto il boot)...
dopo due avvii con speedboot mi ero già stufato, vedere il desktop e avere mouse e rete inutilizzabile mi scoccia di più che aspettare 5s in più..

Diciamo che speedboot mi sembra sia discutibile a livello di utilità.....
