mac4lin rpm request

Post by forrestw517 »

I would like to request an rpm of mac4lin. have several people who are used to the mac look and have them convinced to move to mandriva but would like to have the mac theme.

source files are here http://sourceforge.net/projects/mac4lin/

Thank you and as always mib is my favorite repository and has made a few rpms for me
Forrest

I tryed it and works and looks very nice!

I found an interesting Topic in Mandriva Forum
http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=73258

For me, I continue to prefer your Equinox theme with Faenza icons!
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/mib/forum/v ... =38&t=2294

P.S: To me, to install it requested, compiz, emerald and some ruby rpms

Found, here a complete Guide to install and config
http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?p=720712#720712

With rpm available, it could be very usefull mainly the config part

infra_red_dude (Anirudh) wrote: Mac4Lin 1.0 Documentation is now uploaded. It can be downloaded from here:

It includes updated instructions to get that perfect Mac OS X look and also additional tweaks. I'd like to thank Hardin and Jeff for their contribution Smile
So, the manual is here:

Hi! The GDM is not included because mandriva uses GDN2. And usplash is not included because is not plymouth.
The extras like pidgin i can't include because if there is a new update of pidgin then dissappear one, and the user must update it by hand.
I've included the GTK theme and GTK splash, icons theme, metacity and all mac fonts.
To install GTK splash you'll find an application called splash in Applications menu, the GTK splash image is in /usr/share/pixmaps/splash.
