I finally managed to install the 3.0.0-nrj:
after resolving the problems arising from the lack of recent (> RV770) Radeon firmwares in our kernel-firmware* packages (unsurprisingly, now they are all collected in a package named "radeon-firmware"), all works well.

And also the problem with VmWare Workstation 7.1.4:

the only issue I have, vmware 7.1.4 and vmplayer 3.1.4 don't build their modules,

was resolved by applying this patch:

It applies cleanly, all modules build and, for now, VMW Workastation works without any issue...
