Reading all the mess that mdv maintainers have done with their latest systemd update,
to help someone, I thought to port after lts 3.0.25 also the latest reliable kernel 3.1.10
Mandriva 2011.0 - 32bit - inside there are all 32bit kernel flavours
main folder path is:
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2011.0/ ... ls/3.1.10/
the two most requested and used rpms are:
http://mirrors.coreix.net/MIB/2011.0/32 ... 2.i686.rpm
http://mirrors.coreix.net/MIB/2011.0/32 ... 2.i686.rpm
From a root konsole, you can use urpmi:
waiting the needed time to download and install the two rpms...
Code: Select all
urpmi http://mirrors.coreix.net/MIB/2011.0/32/projects/kernels/3.1.10/kernel-desktop-devel-3.1.10-2mib-1-1-mib2010.2.i686.rpm
urpmi http://mirrors.coreix.net/MIB/2011.0/32/projects/kernels/3.1.10/kernel-desktop-3.1.10-2mib-1-1-mib2010.2.i686.rpm
# Now reboot and you should restart your PC with new kernel 3.1.10
You could install also some different kernel flavours
- kernel-desktop586
for very old 32bit PC - kernel-netbook
tuned for Atom nettbook, but works fine even in other laptop - kernel-server
tuned for server apps (like LAMP = Apache, Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, ecc) - kernel-xen-vpops
tuned for XEN Virtualzation server apps
With full PREEMPT, RCU boost, and other optimizations, fine tuned with low latency for multimedia apps (audio, video, editing, DAW)
Other files for
Mandriva 2011.0 64bit
http://mirror.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2011 ... ls/3.1.10/
Mandriva 2010.2
You may need some additional files, like new firmwares
http://mirror.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010 ... s/general/
Mandriva 2010.2 32bit
http://mirror.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010 ... ls/3.1.10/
Mandriva 2010.1 64bit
http://mirror.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010 ... ls/3.1.10/
RoadMap
Within a few days, I hope to have time to prepare also:
- kernel 3.1.10
- kernel 3.2.13 LTS
- kernel 3.3.1
bye, NicCoN.B. All the Kernel rpms files will be available for Mandriva 2010.2 and 2011.0
