Yes, they are.

Copying, right now, in my usb stick, below my own command string

Code: Select all

dd if=/media/2TB/ROSA/2012.1-Beta2/ROSA.2012.Desktop.Beta2.x86_64.iso of=/dev/sdd bs=8M ; sync

i removed "quiet" option,

when freeze happens then light of the disks stays "light on"

there is no error message

Hi,

I Have some problem to download ISO file nrjQL from the mirror 1 (I'm able to download 1G file not 1,4. I have tried twice)
I've just downloaded the file again from the mirror 2 it seams to have the right dimension, but I'm not able to check MD5 sum, now I try to instal that.
Please could you provide MD5 checksum also for nrjQL iso?

Thank you

FXdrake by konsole (It has produced a little system freeze to the first launch, and ask a wrong user password also after the change of mandriva tool autentification. Task-X11 package avoid to start FXdrake from MCC (to check)

Simplewelcome : It seams always better, I like horizontal scrolling but would be better to maintain a clear separation from different application group, I like to be able to merge many icons in the same place/folder.

Now I'm installing a lot of program Digicam devede yakuake kicad hplip-gui gimp etc

Thank you

few note about my hardware:

Some serious problems still found in Beta2, after yesterday installation

Nvidia or XFdrake?
Nvidia proprietary drivers 304.64,
download ok, install ok, reboot ok, then

[OK] Reaching target Graphical Interface...

it freeze there forever, in all PCs I have tried
Alexander Kazancev answer > wrote:For Nvidia STRONGLY need using XFdrake. Without add nokmsboot in grub kernel line it's not working...
Also please check properly change alternatives:

After install drivers run (from root)

update-alternatives --config gl_conf

and set 2 (/etc/nvidia-current/ld.so.conf)

UPDATE: with Nvida I've found the error - update-alternatives not updates with select proprietary driver
Printer system KO?
Main cups files are present out of the box
so CUPS seems started and working...
but when you connect a printer
no printer is detected even if disconnect/connect

I've tried also TurboPrint (licensed), but nothing to do,
the printer is not detected at all (Epson Stylus D88)
Alexander Kazancev answer > wrote:Printer autodetect disabled (such droped in upstream) and you need use system-config-printer to setup it.
Also you need run cups... (it will be done soon in system-config-printer).
Rocket bar
The icon size and the spacing of the predefined programs is wrong,
I mean the icons right after the ROSA Start button,
there is also something wrong with the size or the height of the bar

Skype vs TeamViewer
libxfixes3 / lib64xfixes3 - seems like overlapping some files?
Problem in 64bit arch: programs 1>Skype 2> TeamViewer
If you need to install Teamviewer, you can download from site
and install, bypassing the wrong dependencies requests, I used

urpmi teamviewer_linux.rpm --allow-force
or
rpm -Uvh --nodeps teamviewer_linux.rpm

after TeamVIewer is installed, you need to install wine (wine32),
so you need to add the 32bit repositories, in compatibility mode

urpmi wine32

this step install some dozens dependencies from 32bit architecture
I have had never problems in more than 5 years with this solution...

after I install wine, if I start Teamviewer, it starts as expected
and is working very fine,

but If I try to start Skype, it does not start anymore

Skype error:
"/usr/share/skype/skype symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/libXfises.so.3 undefined symbol: _XGetRequest"

the problem is with something added with the libxfixes.so.3
this was installed by wine32

I try to uninstall this lib, but it would have removed all wine32
so I tried to force its removing with rpm -e --nodeps
and I have the confirm that without libxfixes, Skype works again
but if I try starting TeamViewer I receive an error

Teamviewer error:
"TV could not load Gnu/Linux extension shared library tvwine.dll.so"

Alternatively removing the 32bit installing the 64bit, or removing the 64bit installing the 32bit
I used to force uninstall of 32bit, or 64bit, of this lib, to have working or skype or teamviewer

# rpm --nodeps -e libxfixes3-5.0-4-rosa2012.1.i586
# urpmi lib64xfixes3

Skype WORKS - TeamViewer NOT

# rpm -e --nodeps lib64xfixes3-5.0-4-rosa2012.1.x86_64
# urpmi libxfixes3

Skype does NOT work - TeamViewer WORKS

and so perhaps
there should be some error in this lib, some conflicting file
from the 32bit lib, overlapping with the 64bit lib contents...

Many people use TeamViewer and Skype concurrently
since MDV 2010 up to RM2012 they have worked without a problem

for skype

it's time to use 4 version

i installed it with my 2010.2 using getskype from rosa lts

it works well

i note this with mandriva 2010.3 i586 :

if i use kopete and skype then video in skype does not work

if i use only skype
- if skype is launched when kde opens a session then video does not work

- if i launch skype 2 mn after kde opens a session then video works !
