I've never tried it, but if you like experimenting, you can try to configure /etc/X11/xorg.conf accell from UXA to SNA
Me and experimenting? No...
Looks like you haven't checked
xorg.conf lately.
It's not used anymore.
To be honest, I also was confused when I haven't found it today. So I did some searching and reading.
I found next info
here.
To use the new SNA method, create
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf with the following content:
Code: Select all
Section "Device"
Identifier "Intel Graphics"
Driver "intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "sna"
EndSection
I guess that
/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf would work too.
Benchmark results on Phoronix site looks very nice. So I wanted to test this myself.
I can not run Phoronix graphic tests nor Heaven benchmark on this machine.
Heaven reports this:
Code: Select all
X Error of failed request: GLXBadFBConfig
I found this info on their site:
Unigine Heaven 4.0 (and Valley 1.0) requires OpenGL 3.2 Core Profile and GLSL 1.50 support. These are in development, but won't be fully supported until Mesa 10+ which will hopefully be out at the end of the year.
However, we do support enough to run Heaven 4.0. You just need to set MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.2 and MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=150.
We could possibly add a /etc/drirc workaround for Heaven that applies these workarounds so that the benchmarks run out of the box. Otherwise, we'll just have to wait until full support for 3.2 and 1.50 lands.
I tried suggested overrides, but it didn't work.
I added those lines in heaven launch script:
Code: Select all
export MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.2
export MESA_GLSL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=150
There is no difference. Still same error.
I guess I will have to wait for Mesa 10.
Fortunately this is my work laptop, so this is not a big issue.
