We have noticed that Kernel 3.17 did not work with the VMWare virtualization
we are searching for a solution to be applied directly to the vmware sources...

It Works Like a Charm!
Version used, nrjQL, desktop x64.
I was afraid to encounter the problems I pointed out in version 3.15, but all works correctly, even the bluetooth adapter that never worked with rosa.
Even the patch suggested by GV Mariani for vmware works flawlessly.
Nicco, if you want the patched vmnet.tar, tell me how to transfer it to you, I'll save a couple of minutes of your valuable time.

Thanks

On ROSA or OMV?

Good! You can send me the patch as attachment into my email > abitrules AT yahoo.it

Currently the kernel configs and features are not to be considered as final...
Consider that it's the first time I have released a kernel (nrj & nrjQL) at the very first release:
other times I have waited to have all necessary patchsets before starting a new kernel serie,
to achieve that I have gave up to TOI and USKM that are not yet available for the kernel 3.17,
but these missing features will be added, as soon as possible, in the upcoming kernels 3.17.x

It's Rosa, I installed OMV in a virtual machine.
