Skype 4.0.0.7 is available for ROSA & Mandriva Linux

New stable version of Skype 4.0.0.7. New version includes many new features and improvements:
* A new Conversations View where users can easily track all of their chats in a unified window.
* A brand new Call View;
* Improved video and audio call quality and have also extended support for more cameras;
* improved chat synchronization;
* new presence and emoticon icons;
* the ability to store and view phone numbers in a Skype contact's profile;
* much lower chance Skype for Linux will crash or freeze;
* chat history loading is now much faster;
* support for two new languages: Czech (flag:cz) and Norwegian (flag:no)


I tried rosa2012lts rpms in old mdv 2010.x and it's working very nice, so far:
first time i logged in, i had to wait long time (some minutes) for database chat conversion, so don't worry and wait patiently
from the second time you will launch skype 4, it would be very fast to start, login and connect to the network

You can use these same packages for all Mandriva and ROSA different versions!

Il suggerimento potrebbe essere quello di aspettare un pochino perchè il file non è più là e non è ancora dove dovrebbe essere, se non sbaglio.

sapete dove poter recuperare la vers. skype-4.0.0.7 ?

Su MDV 2010, sto provando ad aggiornare la mia 4.0.0.7 con la 4.0.0.8 di ROSA

i file rpm sono questi due

RM 2012 - 64bit

da urpmi, sembra che non ci sia nulla da fare, non vuole installare

io avevo provato con urpmi e si installava ma all' avvio di skype questo non partiva perchè mancava libtiff.so.4

che tra l' altro non c'è in nessun pacchetto nemmeno per mandriva 2011 e 2012 !!! ma sarò io lo sfigato? :?

cmq proverò con il tuo metodo.... magari è proprio l'installazione che non viene eseguita correttamente con urpmi

Installato Skype 4.0.0.8 con il metodo rpm di NicCo.
Tutto OK
