This may have been covered before - if so my apologies. When using konsole - TAB completion stalls for some situations. For example if using urpmi "some rpm file" and typing the first few letters of the rpm name - the auto-complete will not work. There is a time lapse before anything happens.
However when I cd to another directory the TAB auto-complete works as anticipated. After installing the rxvt console, I found the same thing happening. Hang, I need the command line to work - it is hopeless without it.

Any ideas ?

This seems to have resolved itself.

Not sure if it had any impact but I installed rxvt and xterm. Some time later the auto-complete started working correctly.



NB I spoke too soon - problem still exists.
