Inkscape non utilizzabile

Salve a tutti,
dopo aver installato Rosa fresh desktop, ultima iso aggiornata, ho installato Inkscape che però è inutilizzabile perchè non appena provo ad aprire un file rimane in attesa per parecchio tempo senza aprire mai la finestra per la scelta del file.
Stessa cosa anche per salvare un file.
Avete qualche notizia in merito?

Se 64 posso darti il log dell'installazione per confronto.

Scusate, non avevo detto che il mio sistema è un X86_64.
Credo che mi abbia installato la versione a 64 bit ma che ora non posso verificare perchè sono al lavoro (avendo inserito i repository del 64 e quelli a 32 disattivati)
Cmq avevo installato rosa fresh in ufficio su una penna usb e avevo gli stessi problemi, oggi farò una prova in ufficio che è sempre la versione a 64.
Cosa potrebbe essere che non va?

oltre alla cosa più immediata che è lanciare inkscape da console.

Inanzitutto il file installato è inkscape-0.48.3.1-4-rosa2012.1.x86_64

Provato a creare un nuovo utente e il problema persiste.

Ho provato a lanciarlo da console ed il risultato appena lancio è questo:

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:

Alternatively you can run:

Tutti i repo aggiunti e abilitati, ovviamente tranne i 32 bit che come saprai sono da attivare solo nel momento in cui occorrono e da disabilitare subito dopo.

il sistema non era aggiornato perchè sto utilizzando quello dell'ufficio, ma ora ho fatto tutti gli aggiornamenti e niente da fare stesso problema.
Cmq anche se provo ad aprire un file dall'icona sulla barra stessa cosa.
