Quale ISO installare?

Post by stefano1956 »

Ciao.
Buon lavoro a tutti

Daily ISO-images with ROSA Fresh plus the recent updates!

davvero poco a rimuoverlo.

Buona Pasqua a tutti.

Ciao, NicCo

Se vi interessa sapere cosa bolle in pentola...
There will be new branch rosa2014.1 soon.

I suggest to consider rosa2012.1 as a frozen branch ( = no updates
unless they are really needed) and R3 as a final 2012.1-based release.

1. Next week we plan to create rosa2014.1 platform and rosa2014.1 git
branch.
2. After that we'll mass-rebuild all repositories to fill rosa2014.1
with binary packages.
3. Then we'll fix packages that failed to rebuild.
4. Then we'll update gcc, glibc, perl, libpng, xserver etc and
mass-rebuild all repositories again.
5. Somewhere around this time community contributors can start to work
with rosa2014.1 platform & branch.
6. We'll fix what requires to be fixed to build/work with new libs and
compilers.
7. Test & release 2014.1 with KDE 4.13, GNOME 3.12 etc.

So now it's better to avoid updates in rosa2012.1.

P.S. It's really necessary to make sure the update from 2012.1 to
2014.1 is very smooth.

from Pulfer words:

Characterized in that once marketers came and said that the name should be removed from the distribution year.

As a result, instead of
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2012
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2012 R1
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2012 R2
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2012 R3
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2014
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2014 R1
etc.

we have these names:
ROSA Desktop Fresh 2012
ROSA Desktop Fresh R1
ROSA Desktop Fresh R2
ROSA Desktop Fresh R3
ROSA Desktop Fresh R4 (!)
ROSA Desktop Fresh R5

And it turns out that is even a change of platform hidden from the user.
Fresh, incidentally, was also not originally planned in the title. It was supposed to be a regular Desktop and Desktop LTS.
