After long discussion and analysis of different options, OpenMandriva will be a French Association de Loi 1901, a standard french NGO.
This means that the total freedom and independence of the project is guaranteed.
A lawyer will be working on the formal and legal aspects of the foundation and the transition governance has to be chosen, mainly from the teams that are already working on the Association and the Linux distribution.
This first governance teams will lead the foundation until the first election is prepared and a new association organs are elected by the community.
We hope than in a recent times we will have the association up and running and the elections agenda set up.
OpenMandriva Association is up and running for freedom.

Après une longue discussion et l'analyse des différentes options, OpenMandriva sera une association française de loi 1901, une ONG française standard.
Cela signifie que la liberté et l'indépendance totale du projet est garantie.
Un avocat va travailler sur les aspects formels et juridiques de la fondation et la direction de transition doit être choisie, principalement à partir des équipes qui travaillent déjà sur l'Association et la distribution Linux.
Cette première équipe de direction mènera la fondation jusqu'à ce que la première élection ait lieu et que de nouvelles équipes soient élus par la communauté.
Nous espérons que dans un délai raisonnable, nous aurons l'association en ordre de marche et l'ordre du jour des élections mis en place.
L'association OpenMandriva est en marche pour la liberté.

Dopo una lunga discussione e l’analisi delle diverse opzioni, OpenMandriva sarà una associazione francese legge 1901, una ONG francese standard.
Ciò significa che la totale libertà ed indipendenza del progetto è garantita.
Un avvocato si occuperà degli aspetti formali e giuridici della fondazione e sarà necessario nominare la governance di transizione, perlopiù tra i gruppi che stanno già lavorando sull’Associazione e la distribuzione Linux.
Il primo team di governance condurrà la fondazione finchè non avverranno le prime elezioni ed un nuovo gruppo sarà eletto dalla Comunità.
Noi speriamo, in tempi ragionevolmente brevi, sia di avere l’associazione a regime che le elezioni avviate.
L’associazione OpenMandriva è in marcia per la libertà.
