Sage in 2010.0

Post by gioma »

Sagemath is in the mandriva repositories 2010.0, search it by "sagemath". Look if you have activated all repositories Contrib and Backports of Mandriva.
In 2009.1 no 64 bits because i don't have a 64 bits PC, it would must package by other packager, sorry ;-)

In 2010 I have several "Contrib" repositories, I added PLF and MIB but when I try to install Sage it ask forn "Contrib media" repository. Where can I find it ?

In 2009.1 I can't use Sage 32 bit in my 64 bit system. Right ?

Non compatible 32 bits in 64 bits.
In 2010.0 you must activate Contrib, Contrib Updates and Contrib Backports, that's all
If you want another form to install it, download the last version from http://sagemath.polytechnic.edu.na/linu ... index.html, then untar the tar.gz and follow the instructions to work with it in the README or INSTALL file, that's all.

I'm trying to learn Sage and I think I'll use always notebook because GUI is easier to learn.
But opening Sage with GUI is quite long and I would add a menu item that opens directly notebook.
I added a menu item that open Sage in konsole but I would open directly notebook. How can I do ?

Ho scaricato l'rpm sull'hard disk e ho provato a installarlo manualmente.
