We are close to the beta isos, work in progress...

Latest News:
It has been set the deadline for cutting the beta ISOs this night at 00.00
this step for handing the beta iso to QA, not for releasing it to the public

then, if everything will go fine enough with the QA tests,
after few days should follow the public release of isos...

The ISOs candidate to become Beta, if the QA team will approve them will be renamed as beta...
Below, I'm quoting two important msgs related to 1>ISOs availability and to 2>QA test to approve the Beta status

ISOs release and availability
Bero wrote:Hi,
the beta iso is just about ready to be passed to QA for testing.

There's an obscurity in it that many people will notice as a bug or a plain
user interface weirdness -- we need to point this out in release notes and
announcements to make sure people "get it".

There's 4 application launchers in the panel (Kickoff, Simplewelcome, Lancelot
and Homerun).

In the final version, only 1 of them will be there by default -- in the beta,
the idea is to get some feedback on which is preferred by our users (beyond
"I'm using X because X is the default").

Please make sure this is explained in any announcement to the public (and
maybe we can even use it as a publicity stunt by announcing this fact on a KDE
site so KDE users not otherwise interested in our distribution can get to try
all the launchers side by side...)

(Just please
don't report things like grub2 being in text mode, kdm not having
a background, ... that are known and will be fixed in the next build).

QA for Beta approval
Robert Xu wrote:BETA GO/NO-GO 17 Sept.

Hi all,

It's the moment we've been waiting for - the arrival of the beta iso.
Now, it's time to make a decision.

QA will have a meeting at 18:45 GMT Tuesday (#openmandriva-qa) to
determine whether to accept or reject this new beta ISO.

thanks,
Robert Xu
bye, NicCo

[OM Cooker] last beta candidate NOGO

the ISOs have not passed the QA approval,
now those can be considered as the latest alpha, for the next beta candidate isos we need to wait few day more...

hi all,

the go/nogo debate from QA resulted in 0 GO, 3 NOGO, 1 ABSTAIN.
so the beta candidate has been rejected.

the bugs that block the next beta candidate have been labelled blocker
and put on the bugzilla.

qa hopes to receive another beta candidate within the next week.
