[MIB] Libre Office 3.4.2.3 now for mdv 2010.1 2010.2

The 3.4.1 version was considered by the Libre Office Team itself like an home version / edition, while starting from 3.4.2 they defined it as enterprise level, so we decided to port it ASAP to replace good and old 3.3.3.2 version

For now, we have ready and available for your testing all rpms files only for Mandriva 2010.2 64bit
http://pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010.2/64/t ... e-3.4.2.3/
all other versions for different mandriva distro will follows soon, even for incoming Mandriva 2011

To make things easier for testers... below there are the install instructions

Libreoffice 3.4.2.3 for Mandriva 2010.2 - 64bit

Code: Select all

urpmi.addmedia --update LibreOffice_3.4 http://mirror.pianetalinux.org/MIB/2010.2/64/testing/libreoffice-3.4.2.3/
urpmi --auto-update --auto

LibreOffice 3.4.2 testing

Post by krell »

Well done MIB team! I have minimally tested all components of LibreOffice 3.4.2 and have found no problems so far. I've tested write and draw to a greater extent and also not a single problem so far. As time permits I'll dig deeper into the other components, but thus far it's all been an extremely smooth experience.

One minor glitch that apparently rectified itself upon first time startup; it complained of missing JRE. But by the time I opened tools-->options, the correct JRE was shown as selected. I have restarted LO a number of times now with no complaints about JRE.

Not a single install problem: so Congrats to Dago68 for this difficult but very useful port

I remember to you that LibreOffice is a huge and complex port, so you need to wait more days to have all other versions

Ciao, NicCo
Hai ragione, Nicco... sorry :)
Lo sto usando da un 4-5 giorni e non ho riscontrato grossissimi problemi, tranne due, uno piccolo piccolo:
alla partenza, almeno di Writer che è la parte che uso di più, appare sempre questo messaggio di errore in console
fopen /usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/../basis-link/program/pagein-common: No such file or directory
che tuttavia non sembra avere conseguenze evidenti...

E uno un po' più serio:
Tools- Extension Manager + click on "Check for upgrades" provoca l'immediata chiusura del programma;
in console compaiono solo tre righe
QPixmap: It is not safe to use pixmaps outside the GUI thread

Installato su Mandriva 2010.2 - 64bit, Tutto OK.

L'unica cosa che non compare, l'icona LibreOffice (quella di presentazione dei programmi).

Grazie

Ciao, Salvo

It's so easy:
Lebreoffice 3.4.2 is inside sandard MIB repository (not more in testing), if you don't configure it, you can't download

After we test a program, it the testing is good, we copy all in MIb /basic repo, at the end we delete the testing repository
