Playing 3D video with ROSA and Bino 3D player on your screen

Post by NicCo »

A few days ago I was in a mall and I saw a big LED TV playing some 3D movies demos, that were visible properly using special glasses

I asked myself, would somehow possible to play this type of videos, on our ROSA Desktop?

Searching around and reading about, I have found an interesting media player called Bino

Official site:
http://bino3d.org/

I talked with some friends and I asked them why there should have been an old version on the /contrib, at least for ABF was so, but it was not really on repo...

One of them, Symbianflo, has decided to fix the thing, he fixed and updated the player to the most recent version and published in the contrib repos updates

Yesterday he warned me and asked me to try the program and report feedback:
Just a few mins ago, I have installed the program and it seems to work really well, now I have to get hold of anaglyph glasses, which seems the only economic solution with which to see these videos on a normal screen

Code: Select all

[root@localhost ~]# urpmi bino

    http://abf.rosalinux.ru/downloads/rosa2012.1/repository/x86_64/media/contrib/updates/bino-1.4.2-1-rosa2012.1.x86_64.rpm

        50% di 625k completato, ETA = 0:00:01, velocità = 261k
installazione di bino-1.4.2-1-rosa2012.1.x86_64.rpm da /var/cache/urpmi/rpms
In preparazione... #############################################
      1/1: bino #############################################
[root@localhost ~]#

If you want to try watching some 3D videos, now we have Bino and there are a lot of 3D samples on the net...

bye, NicCo

Surely SymbianFlo, the guy who prepared Bino for ROSA Fresh, he will attend here soon, and if possible, he will import Bino also for ROSA Marathon

Now, a question to you:
Do you know where to buy Anaglyph Glasses?
Now I've found many different models here:
http://www.amazon.it/OCCHIALI-Anaglyph- ... ph+glasses
and
http://www.ebay.it/sch/i.html?_trksid=p ... &_from=R40

I'm a little confused by different models,
I'm searching cost effective but good quality

Do you have some valid suggestions about?

bye,
NicCO

Hi
I can try to port an older version for LTS X1, because new ffmpeg is mandatory, our ffmpeg stack on LTS is a bit old ...
and to update all ffmpeg stack on LTS is out of the question we need TEAMS to do this, rather a newer kde then ffmpeg :D
Keep in touch

PS:
just to do this in the right way , would be awesome if you ask for it on bugzilla
( portings for LTS have a very special treatment : heavy testing, QA procedure, a.s.o, for obvious reasons )

Unfortunately i'm not an expert in this sector and i don't know where you can buy a Anaglyph Glasses because i have an old type distributed with an informatic magazine.
In bino is possible configure different type of glasses, and also with my bad glasses i can see well in 3D. :-)

For more information you can see this post: http://it.emcelettronica.com/occhiali-3 ... -scegliere :-)

Bye, Stefano.

I've found an interesting video about different 3D glasses
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 1K9gpLo7Nw

The "polarized glasses" work properly only with the LG 3D TV / Monitors,
or is possible using them with the common LED TVs, using Bino or sView?
