Kernel rtQL version 3.8.13 with -rt10 patch and the TOI full enabled

Already sent to ABF, in less than two hours the RPMS should be available:
Builds in progress >>> https://abf.rosalinux.ru/kernels_38x/Ke ... uild_lists

I recommend, especially to GvM and Mario Moles, to install it ASAP,
start their testing to send feedback about, now is important to know:
- from GvM > if vmware issue has been fixed, (works like rt8?),
you may test also the jack qjackd, pulseaudio, stressing the audio zone
- from Mario > the behaviour with jackd, qjackd, pulseaudio, ecc.
with all your used music applications
- in general > if the TOI add and enabling does not add any regression
test the toi suspend / hybernation functions with this kernel, please...

Having all these 3 versions, is usefull only because help us to check and verify better
all the progresses and eventual regressions, from the latest versions -rt8 to upto -rt10
i.e.lately has been reported by GvM that rt9 had a regression with a module of vmware
we hope that this newest -rt10 is working well for vmware vms and for everything else...

Sorry, still the same thing here: "failed to setup build environment" from vmware-modconfig and consequently no working vmware modules...
The last time we saw a such error was when version.h was displaced (in include/uapi/generated/linux, from include/linux) so I suspect something similar here, but cannot guess what is changed from -rt8 and -rt9/10...

Can you try informing rt buzilla about the problem with vmware:
even if they dont accept fix requests for proprietary software...

at least, they should know...

fglrx-9.012 works even if not officially supports linux-3.8.x!
I hope it's about Nicco!
Unfortunately pulseaudio still crashes after a few minutes!
0 xruns!
The temperrature remain low even at the same time using amarok, youtube with pulseaudio, rosegarden!
Even the use of the ram is good!
If it were not for the crashes pulseaudio this would be the best kernel ever!

I tried to install on a powerfull laptop of one friend of mine (below you can read all the data about):
after te first reboot I tried to launch the VMWare VMs and I found none issues, all worked very fine,
none problems building Nvidia current drivers, that worked atter the fisrt reboot without any issue,
and I seem having none problems with the pulseaudio stuff (I mean, with my usual PC activity...)

UPDATE! > rt10-rtQL2
New release version for kernel 3.8.13, it's the 2th release and can be considered a fix version:
this contain some improvments, a few fixes, and some features requested by our Community

To check the build status from ABF (in realtime)

As usual, all packages can be find in the proper repo

Alexander Burmashev wrote:I'm very interested to the new just added patch:

- scsi_storvsc_avoid-usage-of-WRITE_SAME.patch

That's particularly very important for me.
Actually, ROSA installation on Hyper-V machines may be blocked by a bug, and this patch should fix!
I guess it is not so critical for cooker, since it may be used 3.9 kernels ( where it is fixed upstream ).

Hi
RosaDesktop.Fresh 2012.1 belka
Is this a distributed iso or the custom configuration only on your machine(s)? Thanks.

I notice a sure difference, mine is a 32bit installation, yours is 64bit, perhaps is there the reason...
perhaps "belka" is a codename used only in 32bit arch, we should verify into another 32bit install

The situation has remained the same last rt tried both simple -rt and rtQL:
  • the old fglrx compile and works well
  • jackd holds up very well and does not report xruns
  • pulseaudio keeps crashing! :(
I begin to think that ROSA needs a newer or a fixed version of Pulse...
