OpenMandriva Lx 2013.0 RC1 candidate ISOs

Post by rugyada »

QA Team will test RC1 candidate.

Here is Bero's
Spoiler:  The first communication, these links now are obsolete

Hi,
the -rc1 candidate isos are available now:

Code: Select all

https://abf.rosalinux.ru/platforms/openmandriva2013.0/products/53/product_build_lists/1825

Code: Select all

https://abf.rosalinux.ru/platforms/openmandriva2013.0/products/54/product_build_lists/1826
Please let us know ASAP if you find a reason to no-go it so we can respin it in time, there's no way the intended release schedule can be kept if we just get a no-go at the meeting.

One thing that looks like a potential showstopper, but shouldn't be treated as such is
https://issues.openmandriva.org/show_bug.cgi?id=250

The issue here is simply that the machine is out of memory and the technologies used by livecd-tools can't handle that properly. The proper fix is way too intrusive to do this late in the cycle, and the workaround is to simply point out that in order to use live mode, you need a certain amount of RAM (exact amount still needs to be determined).

Please note:
Just updating about what's going on. No need to test unofficial releases by common users.

If expert users wish to test these ISOs they should join the QA team as a tester and can report their experiences via the QA mailing list.

Bella!
Boh! Proprio non capisco!

Beta 1 has several serious bugs and Beta 2 cycle has started. Beta 2 is not yet out and we have already RC1 candidates?
May be I miss something?

This RC1 candidate has been rejected, because meanwhile workaround for has been found.
So, we have two other ISOs, containing the applied patch, in testing right now:

Concordo.
Piccole issue comunque facilmente aggirabili o sopportabili.
Crisb ha fatto un ottimo lavoro in questi giorni.

Ciao, Luca.

installata e live, sempre in vbox.

ciao

RC1 Candidate 1840 and 1841 GO!

\o/ \o/ \o/

Communication by Robert Xu on behalf of QA Team:
Hi all,

The RC1 candidate has passed with the following:

4 GO, 1 NOGO, 0 BLOCK, 0 ABSTAIN, 2 NO_RESPONSE

Additionally, we had feedback from other sources not of QA, but
nevertheless very important. They help to shape the final decision of
the GO/NO-GO. Thanks so much! Their results:

2 GO, 1 NOGO

On behalf of the QA team, I'm happy to announce the approval of the
RC1 candidate. This candidate brings many fixes to the desktop and
includes some long-overdue changes to the theming to make it more
OpenMandriva-based, including the fixing of the plymouth theme by
rugyada.

[...]

A reminder of the next deadlines, as established:

08 Nov: RC1 Tentative Release
15 Nov: RC2 Tentative Release
22 Nov: GA Tentative Release

[...]
