I remind you the base repo address for kernels 3.12 link:

We noticed that Kernel 3.12 did not work with Virtualization Apps,
we found a solution to be applied directly to the vmware sources

3.12.9 is named red3 not 2012.1. What is red3?

Gulp! I can see the wrong distsuffix only in Rosa Fresh packages, for Marathon and OMV all seems right

I'm asking about what happened to Rosa Fresh rebuild, what to do to fix, and if red3 rpms are safe to install

It was an ABF temporarely error and affected only rpms rebuild exactly when I've rebuilt 3.12.9

now, I've sent Kernel 3.12.9 to a new rebuild, so the packages should replace the wrong ones:
rebuild in progress...

When I try to uninstall kernels of the 3.12.x series I get the following message from the graphical interface:

Because of their dependencies, the following package(s) also need to be removed:

- bootsplash-3.3.3-4-rosa2012.1.noarch
- ndiswrapper-1.56-8-rosa2012.1.x86_64
- x11-driver-video-1.0.0-42-rosa2012.1.x86_64
- x11-driver-video-nouveau-1.0.9-2-rosa2012.1.x86_64

I suppose that this is not safe, so I remove them manually with the command rpm -e --nodeps, that does not uninstall such dependencies. I wonder if it is safe to have such dependencies removed or this is a minor bug.

did you performed a comparison between kernel-3.12.9-1 and 3.12.9-1v7 (or 69 vs 69v7)?

It's important to realize about the reliability and performance between BFQv6 and BFQv7

A new rebuild, with a fix for VirtualBox is in progress...
if you use VBox, please wait the NAMESPACES enabled release!

Bugzilla > https://issues.openmandriva.org/show_bug.cgi?id=473

In about 3 - 6hrs, the new 3.12.9 rpms should be ready
- this release has BFQv6r2, for newest BFQv7, better waiting a bit

You can check, here:
https://abf.rosalinux.ru/kernels_3_12x/ ... uild_lists
https://abf.rosalinux.ru/kernels_3_12x/ ... uild_lists

if you have already installed 3.12.9, and need VBox,
you must remove 3.12.9 and install the new rpms...

In the evening, or tomorrow, the new alternative version with BFQv7

Code: Select all
