[17:27:05] NicCo: What about the support time?
Support is for 2 years
...
[17:32:49] NicCo: For 8.1 there will be only with KDE 4, or some other isos with 2014.1 codebase will follow with plasma 5, gnome, mate, ecc
I will build other isos later
[17:33:42] NicCo: Ok, thx
During a private chat, Keleg77 has informed me about the new release of ROSA Fresh 8.1,
a revisited ROSA R8 still based on 2014.1 core, with many fixes, with two years of support.

While R8.1 release is primary purposed for users who need stable LTS platform on modern hardware,
a newer codebase called rosa2016.1 is also coming very soon, likely in March, with other isos release,

if you wish to try the one with rosa2016.1 Plasma 5, you can download here, that's close to be the final...
On my request, Pulfer has prepared a daily 64bit ISO with Plasma5 2016.1, he has informed me:

[18:42:39] Andrey Bondrov: The ISO is ready: https://abf.rosalinux.ru/platforms/rosa ... ists/18018

http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/show_bug.cgi?id=7788

This is an extract from my recent discussion with ROSA developers wrote: One very good thing in R9: now changing colors, style and icons from KDE 4 settings applies these changes to Qt5/KF5 applications
It's very useful because most applications seem to use Qt5 now, not Qt4
There's also new system theme, based on Breeze style + Oxygen window decorations
The new styie is for both KDE 4 and Plasma 5 - In fact, it's new system style for Qt4/Qt5/GTK2/GTK3
Still it's easy to set old theme if someone needs it

The roadmap after the beta release: How much time for the GA release?
It depends on first QA results, I hope for this month :-)
Like few more days for internal testing and about a week for public testing
Interessante?

Bad News:
nVidia's new crappy technology GLVND doesn't allow our VirtualBox to run with nVidia proprietary drivers
So that's another release blocker
