I found that this is a patch not for KDE 4.3.4. It needs to patchaapgorilla wrote:Is there any chance that this patch from trunk can be included:
kwin/effects/resize/resize.cpp
kwin/effects/resize/resize.h
But there is no kwin/effects/resize/ in KDE 4.3.4. Perhaps resize effect was added later.

Re: Kde 4.3.4: we are working on it for Mandriva 2009.1 & 2010.0
For me, resizing was always smooth in KDE 4.3 with KWin effects enabled. On nVidia 190.x drivers and ATI open source radeon driver. On Cataclysm driver resizing was very slow in KDE 4.3.1 (didn't test it in 4.3.2 and 4.3.4 as I don't have ATI card anymore). I hope they didn't break that in 4.4aapgorilla wrote:Thanks, nevermind I just upgraded my laptop to cooker and resizing still isn't smooth anyway, will they ever fix it....

It's not worse, it's that it just hasn' t been good at all, it has been terrible and now it's just bad
for fglrx try this: http://blog.jasondonenfeld.com/190
(I am going to give it a shot on my desktop too (which still has mdv 2010 but a nvidia card)

Prime impressioni su kde 4.3.4 su mandriva 2010 i 686 kernel 2.6.31.6-desktop-69mib
Grazie e Ciaoo

Re: Kde 4.3.4: we are working on it for Mandriva 2009.1 & 2010.0
Thank you, MIB team, for giving me the chance to test this. Now I report, that this backport really works. Glitches are confined to Mandriva-specific patches, the rest works.
The most experimental Nepomuk enhancements don''t work, but, to be fair, they are too much experimental. Task Switcher, nepomuktree:/ and TaskTop work here.
For anyone who hasn't followed my chain of messages:
* Nepomuk autosuspension works, and answer to battery status.
* All upstream bugs fixed in 4.3.3 and 4.3.4 are (unsurprisingly) fixed.
* As a result, KDE feels faster.
* Tasktop has a new icon.
A screenie BTW, if you watch carefully, the Task Switcher Plasmoid is running! Believe it or not, the font here is Lucida Sans at 8 pt (running at 125 ppi)
Google Chrome, Amarok 2.2.1 (MIB release), and the backport

Re: Kde 4.3.4: we are working on it for Mandriva 2009.1 & 2010.0
Thanx a lot for this test. As I had to downgrade QT4 from 4.6.0 to 4.5.2 in order to rebuild packages, there could be some problems with build for 2009.1 i686. But it seems to be that downgrade came out fine.astragalo wrote:Ciao installato e per ora perfettamente funzionante la versione 2009.1 32Bit.

Re: Kde 4.3.4: we are working on it for Mandriva 2009.1 & 2010.0
You are right... there's no bug because there's no KDE PulseAudio integration . In 2010.0 the expected behaviour is: KDE must report only the devices GIVEN BY PULSEAUDIO. This is a patch by Colin Guthrie designed only for 2010.0. You can check the history of this patch in his blog.
