WineASIO - esegui applicazioni ASIO per Windows come clients Jack

WineASIO ti permette di eseguire applicazioni Windows con il supporto ASIO, come se fossero veri e propri clients JACK: ciò è reso possibile dalle più recenti versioni di wine (>=0.9.39) con uno speciale ASIO driver. Il setup è leggermente macchinoso, ma molto ben documentato nel file readme incluso e sul rispettivo thread nel forum di JackLab. Qualche sequencer, host o plugin potrà comunque rifiutarsi di funzionare o potrà funzionare in modo scorretto, ma la scelta è sicuramente migliore rispetto ad utilizzare i cossiddetti “vst-wrappers” dssi-vst o fst.

Anche se WineASIO è considerato “bleeding edge development”, nella sua forma attuale appare la più stabile soluzione per utilizzare plugins VST per Windows sotto Linux.

WineASIO - run Windows ASIO applications as JACK clients

WineASIO lets you run Windows applications which support ASIO, as JACK clients, by using a recent version of wine (>=0.9.39) with a special ASIO driver. The setup is a bit tricky, but well documented in the included readme and a huge thread in the jacklab forum. Some sequencers, hosts or plugins may still refuse to work or behave strangely, but the situation is already better than when using the “vst-wrappers” dssi-vst or fst.

Although this is “bleeding edge development”, it currently appears to be the most stable way to run VST plugins under Linux.

Previous 0.7.3 (published yesterday) and the latest 0.7.4 version (updated today)

2>If you have a x86_64 linux system, for best results you have to use:
the i686 MIB Wine (newer is now 1.1.12) and wineasio (newer is now 0.7.4),
as there is NOT a working 64bit native Wine!
