ZoneMinder è un set di applicazioni integrate che forniscono un completo sistema di sorveglianza che consente cattura, analisi, monitoraggio e registrazione di qualsiasi telecamera di sicurezza o CCTV collegato a una macchina Linux. E’ progettato per girare su distribuzioni che supportano il video per Linux (v4l) e l’interfaccia è stata testata con videocamere colllegate a BTTV cards, diverse telecamere USB e telecamere di rete IP.

ZoneMinder is an integrated set of applications which provide a complete surveillance solution allowing capture, analysis, recording and monitoring of any CCTV or security cameras attached to a Linux based machine. It is designed to run on distributions which support the Video For Linux (V4L) interface and has been tested with video cameras attached to BTTV cards, various USB cameras and IP network cameras.

ZoneMinder is highly componentised and comprises both the back-end daemons which do the actual image capture and analysis and a user friendly web GUI enabling you to both monitor the current situation and view and organise historical events that have taken place. The web GUI allows you to check and control your ZoneMinder installation from other computers in your home or from anywhere in the world.

This release contains an important security fix as well as number of other minor fixes and features. It is recommended that this update be applied at the earliest opportunity.

N.B.

Una volta istallati i pacchetti, per farlo funzionare seguire la procedura indicata nel wiki:

Se kate non è installato utilizzare kwrite. Seguire le istruzioni a partire da:

Edit /etc/zm.conf to add mysql user and password
kate /etc/zm.conf

service mysqld start
potrebbe dare un errore, visualizzando un link al bug:

soluzione: seguire le seguenti istruzioni come da: Comment #14 https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=38398#c14

1. rpm -e mysql
2. rm -f /var/lib/mysql/mysql/*
3. /bin/hostname 127.0.0.1
4. urpmi mysql

e quindi continuare a seguire i passi del wiki.
