In questi ultimi giorni sto mettendo a dura prova il mio pc.

Quello che ho potuto notare è che in determinate situazioni di stress il pc ha sì rallentato in velocità nella gestione delle varie applicazioni, video, etc,..

Ma "non si è mai bloccato o impallato" come spesso, invece mi accadeva in passato: quando la macchina, dopo svariati minuti di blocco, si riavviava da sola.

Tutto questo sembra solo un brutto ricordo!

Concludendo, il mio giudizio sul nuovo kernel nrjpae è Strapositivo!!! :D

I am seeing some situations (eg a couple of chrome tabs together take 100%) and the system will become very unresponsive, even the mouse will lag a lot and I can't even launch a terminal....but I need to check with the regular kernel because maybe it is a chrome bug

IMHO, the last chance when even the mouse lags is CTRL+ALT+F1 then login and kill the process that is eating up all of your resources.

I'm eager to see how the standard "voluntary preemptive" kernel is facing this situation. I wonder if the problem lies inside chrome or in the 2.6.33.x kernel.

ho installato il kernel 2.6.33.2-desktop-nrj e a che c'ero ho anche installato gli ultimi driver nVIDIA 195.36.15 e la macchina mi sembra molto più veloce e pronta.. :D :D :D :D
ora non ricordo bene quanto faceva prima al boot ma se non dico una BOOOM enorme mi sembra di aver guadagnato 10 secondi al boot

non ci metterei la mano sul fuoco ma comunque è molto più veloce il boot rispetto a prima...

Avevo il problema che non venivano riconosciuti i sensori della temperatura della CPU e conseguentemente la ventola di raffreddamento non partiva, ovviamente poi il laptop si spegneva brutalmente...
Menomale che poi, una volta installato il kernel NRJ, mi sono svegliato e mi sono reso conto che era soltanto un brutto sogno... Infatti il laptop rimane acceso e la temperatura viene correttamente rilevata, la ventola del raffreddamento va e persino il numero di giri cambia in base alle necessità reali...
Grazie mille ragazzi, avete fatto un lavoro veramente meraviglioso!

Ho scritto uno script bssh per il neofita per installare il kernel NRJ.

Basta cambiare il numero della versione del kernel con l'ultimo compilato dal MIB e poi lo si esegue.

Lo script come potete notare è universale e puo' essere eseguito su qualsiasi piattaforma: i586 - x86_64.

A proposito, come faccio a sapere qual'è l'ultimo kernel MIB disponibile per la mia distro (2009.1 MIB 32 bit) ?
Ho girato (quasi, ovviamente ....) tutto il sito ma non l'ho trovato !

Evidentemente è colpa mia che non ho cercato bene.

Comunque grazie per quanto state facendo per la nostra distro !
