The RC still gives me no-X unless I boot to 3 and choose the vesa driver and a black desktop (no plasma?), as in Beta1 This is running the live DVD only, with no time to do installs.

I have sent your problem to Rosa devel, I think it's important

To demostrate that all ROSA developers listen You, searching the solution for most problems...

I have the answer from Rosa 2012 LTS Release Engineer
Alexander Kazancev wrote:GF9500 it's problem video card. It's has no a full GF 9600 and has a
many problem for detection and works. All part of ldetect and hardware
rules will updated, but if still not work, it's problem for this card
:(

In that situation need try to use "nouveau.noaccel=1" in kernel line
to install - as i knew we using this driver.

Or need try using blobs, will disable for now in ISO build.

Alexander Burmashev proposes another interesting solution when starting in live mode
Alexanfer Burmashev wrote:We can start live mode with vesa driver as a default, to ensure it starts everywhere. I only need to check if it will work.

Interesting information. I think it's been a mystery for, at least, a couple of us, Ben Bullard, maybe some more as this card can't be that scarce.

FWIW, I added nouveau.noaccel=1 to kernel command, removed splash=silent to boot RC live but results were the same, black screen. No ttys, no led for caps lock/scroll lock/num lock. Something is happening as the fan pitch changed after a bit of waiting and magic keys r-s-e-i-u-b led to reboot.

Ah, progress. I'll try to keep abreast. Thanks!

Hi! I have ROSA-EE-2011: do you know if you can do a simple update ;) ? Or you will have to force a clean install by formatting the root partition :( ?

I have asked that to ROSA devel, and I have immediately received this answer:
Kazancev wrote:In our test was seen that there are not many problems to update system (i'm working on an updated system),
but we need manually resolving conflicts for some package (in more situations it's simple delete and reinstall)
We planned to publish official instructions

Hi,
I've got 2 bugs with RC :

In rpmdrake (and with rpm -q --changelog), changelog and filelist is always empty for new and updates packages.

Have you this bug too ?

Hi! You can configure the repos from the terminal? :?:
Just to update without any partition formatting? ;)
Thanks!

ImageThe mass rebuild for /main just finished and started one more, because of
1) with some enhanced "rpm macros",
2) ensure the "full rebuild" in one cycle

They started mass rebuild because in Russia have a long holidays , 4 days, due to the 9th of May
so to keep ABF busy with important task

After the same operation will be launched for /contrib, whose "rebuild" could be completed by the date of release, or even a few days after

I have changed the video adapter to a GTX 470 and the dvd boots normally, posting this from a live session.

I haven't tested other live disks but it certainly appears the main problem for me was the 9500. :o
Thanks.
