New Web Tools for OpenMandriva

It was decided that for web resources, those present have been removed:
Drupal has been shelved altogether because it really showed too many missing features for our needs, since its first implementation we have had too many problems.
We will use various web tools, but among the most common and well-considered the most powerful in their field, such as WordPress, MediaWiki, Vanillaforums

It's available since few minute...
The new URL is: >>> http://openmandriva.org/

Drupal has finally been replaced with WordPress on our main site http://openmandriva.org/. Just to remind you, choice of WordPress was a unanimous decision by most OM members and all Infra team members. Most of you are already familiar with using WordPress; if not, let the Infra team know if you find yourself in doubt.

All posts and their translations have been migrated over, with exception of comments. Importing comments in WP from Drupal was not possible. We'll have to rely on future comments on the new WP site :)

An important change in WP is how translation works. In Drupal, translations were created as separate posts, having their own authors. In WP, we use the qTranslate plugin, which doesn't allow for having separate authors for different translations. Translations for all languages have to be done in the same post (while creating or while later editing).

Also note that user accounts have not been migrated for all. So go ahead and register yourself. If you are a translator or if you want to make posts, write to the Infra team (om-infra@ml.openmandriva.org), and we'll assign you proper permissions/roles.

The looks and the default theme are not final yet, but we tried to have it as clean as possible. Once all the artwork is finalized, we'll have an apt theme for all our webservices then.

Image The New OpenMandriva Forums:
Infra team is proud to announce that we have completed the migration of our old forums (Drupal) to the new one (Vanilla).
The new URL is: >>> http://forums.openmandriva.org/
Note that all user accounts were migrated as well, but before you log into Vanilla, you'll have to reset your password for it to work successfully.

Please go ahead and use these new forums.
All feedback (positive or constructive criticism) is welcome; do let it coming. And do let us know in case you face issues.

Infra team is working to customize Vanilla. So you'll see a better theme, more plugins and more features in the coming days.

Errata:
Sign out is not working
BBCode in thread posts and comments is not working (Vanilla encourages the use of basic HTML while posting)
User avatars couldn't be migrated; you'll have to upload avatars again. Gravatars work, though.

Image The New OpenMandriva Wiki:
The old wiki at wiki.mandrivalinux.org has been moved
The new URL is: >>> http://wiki.openmandriva.org/
Please use this new one from now on as the former will cease to exist in a couple months' time.

Image The New OpenMandriva BugTracker:
Next up is an issue/bug tracker. Most developers have shown interest in using BugZilla.
If no one has resistance to using it, we'll install BugZilla in the next few days.

Cheers and enjoy the new experience.
