It is possible to boot this release from a USB. You may use Fedora's LiveUSB Creator with a download of the OpenMandriva Lx ISO for your system to make your USB bootable. At least 2GB of flash drive capacity is recommended. Persistent storage is not necessary. Note that this will erase everything on your USB!

New ISO (October 15, 2013) - there is a newer x86_64 iso
On behalf of the QA team, I'm happy to announce the approval of the
beta candidate of 14/15 October 2013 and that it can be released for
the 19th October 2013 scheduled release date.
being "the beta candidate of 14/15 October 2013":
- the i586 should be #1682 dated 14 October
- the x86_64 should be #1705 dated 15 October
after the time to mirroring the isos, on October 19, OpenMandriva beta will be publicly announced,
while on cooker the work in progress for the "rc" preparation and its release has already started
